She has been working with MTSA regulations since January 2004, first at the Marine Safety Center reviewing Vessel Security Plans and working with industry to assure their VSPs were in full compliance with the regulatory requirements of 33 CFR Part 104. In 2008, Betty transferred to Port & Facility Compliance working with a focus on facility security. Throughout that time, she has assisted CG field personnel and industry in interpretation of the regulations and their application to different types of vessels and facilities. She manages all aspects of the Alternative Security Program.
