Lindblad Expeditions Seattle, WA National Geographic Venture Naval Architect/Designer: Jensen Maritime Consultants, Seattle, WA Shipbuilder: Nichols Brothers Boat Builders, Freeland, WA This 238.6-foot overnight cruise vessel is the latest one in Lindblad Expedition’s fleet. This purpose-built expedition cruise vessel was designed for exploring coastal waters, shallow coves, and fast- moving channels where wildlife con- gregates for the viewing by the vessel’s 108 passengers and 50 crewmembers. The ship is powered by two MTU diesel engines developing 1,600 HP each and by two Volvo Penta genera- tors providing 477 kW each, backed-up by a 230 kW emergency generator. Additionally, a 300 kW Schottel bow thruster is installed to assist mooring evolutions. And, Jamestown Metal Marine Services was contracted for interior systems design and material services.
