Cummins QSL9 new rating, a 450BHP for medium continuous duty operations, is another good option for commercial marine market segments including passenger transport, inland waterways and commercial fishing. Currently, the QSL9 offers power from 285BHP to 405BHP. The QSL9 also utilizes the Cummins Fuel System XPI and it has also been designed and suc- cessfully applied on a new construc- tion passenger ferry. A diesel- electric hybrid passenger vessel, Enhydra is operated in San Francisco by PVA Vessel member Red and White Fleet. The QSL9 also has a two-year warranty, proving the company’s commitment to quality. The light duty rating will be available on the QSB6.7 480HP, 550HP; on the QSC8.3 600HP and on QSM11 670HP and 715HP. This rating is intended to operate on light commer- cial or government vessels that use variable load applications of 10 percent to 30 percent.
