The agenda was packed as usual, but there were specific items that needed to be approved so members could start benefitting as soon as possible. Captain Mike McElroy helmed the meeting with support from Captain Ben Bernstein as Vice Chairman and U.S. Coast Guard Industry Training Officer LCDR Amanda Fahrig. Slips, Trips, and Falls As reported in the August 2017 FOGHORN, PVAand the Coast Guard completed a white paper on slips, trips, and falls in the domestic passenger vessel industry. That white paper contained information and recommen- dations that the Committee decided to incorporate into our Slips, Trips, and Falls Manual and related online content. LCDR Fahrig took the project on as part of her Coast Guard Industry Training program with PVA and produced a draft manual for approval by the Committee. The Committee has approved the changes and updates to the PVA Slips, Trips, and Falls Manual and that will be available to members very soon. One new project that stemmed from the update to the manual was a review of the PVA Safety Audit Guide that is part of the 1993 Risk Management Manual.
