Those templates, along with a primer on security drills, have been completed and will be available on the PVA website under Security Tools in the Member Download area. The security templates will cover the following areas: • Awareness • Suspicious person/activity • Suspicious bag • Breech of Security • Attempted boarding • Bomb threat • Active shooter The Committee discussed the recent success of getting the PVA developed crew training content online. While not a PVA product, Mr. Morgan Turrell with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced that their study on sharing the waterways was complete and can be viewed on the NTSB website at https://www.ntsb.gov/investi- gations/AccidentReports/Pages/ MSR1701.aspx. Of particular note is that the NTSB is going on record sup- porting mandatory recreational boater education. Commitment Both Mike McElroy and Ben Bernstein told the Committee they were committed to completing the tasks currently being worked on as well as finding new ways to help members improve the safety and security of their operations. I would like to thank Bob Lawler for his leadership of the Committee over the past two years, and for all he has accomplished to support PVAmembers and the domestic passenger vessel industry at-large. n
