When a crisis does occur, events usually unfold rapidly, leaving little time for planning. That is why advance preparation is essential to minimize impact. Are you aware that PVA has developed a comprehensive crisis communications plan exclusive- ly for PVA member use? The PVA Crisis Communications Plan is intended to assist PVA members in efficiently managing their communications and public relations activities in the unlikely event of a crisis. The PVA Crisis Communications Plan deals specifi- cally with crisis communication for members operating vessels and offers recommendations for planning and handling crisis communications, as well as industry-specific information, such as fact sheets and contacts that may be valuable in an emergency situation. PVA Convention at MariTrends 2018 It’s not too early to begin making plans to attend the PVA Annual Convention at MariTrends 2018 scheduled January 27-31 in Savannah, GA. We have a great convention in the works with thought-provoking, information-packed seminars and sessions, inspiring keynote speakers and a MariTrends 2018 exhibit floor that is second-to-none. All of this is set against the beautiful backdrop of Savannah. This coastal city has often been described as offering a “balm for the senses.” As a conven- tion attendee, you will be amazed by block-after-block of emerald green parks, complete with hanging Spanish moss, historic cobblestone streets and majestic architecture.
