55 JUNE 2026 PHOTOS: ISLAND PACKERS T he deadline for the Passenger Vessel Foundation (PVF) Grant Program is quickly approach- ing; applications are due June 30. The PVF Grant Program was created to financially aid those looking to grow their knowledge and skill set to advance their career in the maritime industry. Grants are awarded with a focus on educational assistance, re- search, training and the improvement of safety within the maritime indus- try. Past recipients have utilized the funding to reach such goals as obtain- ing their captain’s license. PVA members across the country have taken advantage of these grants and can attest to the positive impact on their lives, as well as the ease of applying to the program. It is a simple two-step process that includes a form the applicant fills out and a reference form that their employer or supervisor must complete. There are two windows for application each year. For 2026, the first deadline is June 30. A second opportunity will open later in the year with a December 31 deadline. Click here to apply and learn more about the Passenger Vessel Foundation.
