PVA is your voice, and at these events urged awareness of the growing safety concerns regarding the interaction of recreational boaters around commer- cial vessels. PVA encouraged action to create a safer operating environment for all waterways users. PVA under- stands the challenges facing passenger vessel operators when it comes to safe interaction with recreational vessels. PVA is your voice to the policymak- ers, safety trainers, and enforcement officials who can make an impact in the boating safety community. Honored to be invited, PVA presented at the Annual Conference of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators held in Indianapolis, IN and the Board Meeting of the National Boating SafetyAdvisory Committee held in Cape May, NJ. A t t e n d e e s a t t h e N a t i o n a l Association of State Boating Law Administrators included the Boating Law Administrators from every state and their education teams, boating safety non-profit outreach organiza- tions, state law enforcement personnel, U.S. Coast Guard, recreational boating manufacturers, and many more. Board members of the National Boating Safety Advisory Council provide recommended actions directly to Coast Guard regarding boating safety programs. This Council has similar authority and works just like the other federal advisory committees such as Merchant Mariner Advisory Committee (MERPAC) and Navigation
