The deficiency statistics were based on a total of 439 passenger vessels (of all types) with one vessel having ten deficiencies. This accounts to over 90 percent of PVA’s member vessels operated with no Subchapter H security deficiencies within the past 12 calendar months. Last Six Fiscal Years Compliance data from the past six fiscal years was extracted and analyzed for changes and trends for vessels operating under PVA’s Coast Guard approved ASP. Based on the analysis, PVA member vessels main- tained an average compliance rate of 84.8 percent. For questions regarding exactly what compliance documentation is required to be kept onboard and made available at the time of a MTSA- compliance inspection, the Office of Port and Facility Compliance, Cargo and Facilities Division, (CG-FAC-2) published an ASP tri-fold document that is available at: https:// Homeport@USCG.MIL > Missions > Maritime Security > Maritime Transportation SecurityAct (MTSA) > Alternative Security Programs. As always, awareness of common vulnerabilities provides vessel owner/operators the knowledge needed to better allocate security resources. The Coast Guard values its continued partnership with PVA and its members and encourages vessel and facility operators to participate in their local Area Maritime Security Committee. These committees are the best places to collaborate with col- leagues at the port level for security and information sharing, including the resources, services and capabili- ties of other federal, state, local and private sector partners. n Year 2016 Number of vessels with deficiencies 54 Total number of deficiencies 90 Compliance rate 88% Year 2015 Number of vessels with deficiencies 71 Total number of deficiencies 105 Compliance rate 84% Year 2014 Number of vessels with deficiencies 69 Total number of deficiencies 92 Compliance rate 84% Year 2013 Number of vessels with deficiencies 69 Total number of deficiencies 105 Percentage of vessels with deficiencies 84% Year 2012 Number of vessels with deficiencies 59 Total number of deficiencies 90 Compliance rate 87% Year 2011 Number of vessels with deficiencies 77 Total number of deficiencies 129 Compliance rate 82% Vessels Operating under PVA’s Coast Guard Approved ASP* * Percentages are based on a population of 439 vessels.
