Nadeau Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy United States Coast Guard In this presentation, RADM Nadeau will outline what the Coast Guard’s priorities are for preventing marine incidents as well as other major concerns that will interest passenger vessel operators. RADM Nadeau assumed the duties as the Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy in July of 2017. In this capacity, he leads development of nationalpolicy,standards,andprograms to promote Marine Safety, Security and Environmental Stewardship. He oversees three Directorates: Inspections and Compliance, Marine Transportation Systems, and Commercial Regulations and Standards. The programs under his leadership include waterways management, navi- gation and boating safety, ports and fa- cilities, merchant mariner credentialing, vessel documentation, marine casualty investigation, commercial vessel inspections, and port state control. He is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and has degrees in naval architecture & marine engineering and me- chanical engineering. He earned a Master degree in Homeland Security and Defense from the Naval Postgraduate School and is licensed as a Professional Engineer.
