The CEO Climate Leadership Group made a commitment to adopt specific measures to avoid global warming and to promote a low-carbon economy. In the U.S, more than 100 companies teamed up to purchase a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal on December 1, just after the start of COP21, with the blazing headline “Business Backs Low- Carbon USA” with a strong message pledging to commit to a “low-carbon, energy-efficient U.S. economy.” Under the banner of lowcarbonusa.org, they said, “We want this economy to be energy efficient and low carbon. We believe there are cost-effective and innovative solutions that can help us achieve that objective. Failure to tackle climate change could put America’s economic prosperity at risk.
