Parkhurst was so impressed, he urged FOGHORN to write this member profile about this unique operation. Atlantis operates submarines that offer daily round-trip tours off Waikiki Beach on Oahu, Lahaina on Maui, and Kailua-Kona on Hawaii Island. With passenger capacities of 48 or 64, depending on the vessel, the submarine excursions take guests on an undersea adventure featuring sunken ships, reefs, and unsurpassed views of the South Pacific’s tropical, exotic marine life. Each excursion lasts 1 hour 40 minutes, with 45 minutes of undersea viewing seen through porthole windows that allow every guest to have a perfect window seat as fish and other marine animals swim past. Atlantis Submarines are technologically advanced passenger sub- marines, being battery-powered and emitting no pollutants. With Hawaii’s popularity as a destination for tourists from around the globe, Atlantis offers guests the ability to enjoy the narrated tour via headsets in English, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. In addition to the submarine tours, Atlantis also operates the 150-foot Majestic, an excursion and dinner cruise vessel that was acquired earlier this year. n MEMBER PROFILE: Atlantis Submarines Hawaii Let MCM manage your insurance so you can focus on your voyage MCM is a leading independent insurance brokerage based in the Pacific Northwest.
