PVA ASP Revision and Update PVA submitted to the U.S. Coast Guard a revision of the PVA Alternate Security Program (ASP) for review and approval to meet the every-five-year renewal requirement. PVA staff and member volunteers worked for several months reviewing and updating the ASP. As an exclusive benefit to members, the ASP is the most widely used PVA program, with more than half of PVA’s vessel companies using the PVA ASP to meet their vessel and facility com- pliance requirements of the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) regulations. Upon receiving formal Coast Guard approval, PVA will then distribute the new ASP to members. PVA will be sending out more detailed information on what changes have been made.
