Consultant/Compliance/Expert Witness, Marine Safety Consultants Capt. Gifford started his career in the late sixties, advancing to master unlimited in 1992. He has been an adjunct professor at Massachusetts Maritime Academy for over 20 years. Gifford came ashore in 2003 and was the port captain for The Steamship Authority for 15 years. After retiring he has been employed by Marine Safety Consultants. He has been affiliated with the PVA for well over 20 years and a four-term president of the Boston Marine Society.
