Flagship Cruises & Events in San Diego, Calif., launched a new ferry service connecting the Chula Vista waterfront, where the new Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center is located, with Fifth Avenue Landing in San Diego’s downtown. Beginning June 1, the new route expands water transportation options in the South Bay, providing residents, visitors, convention guests, and commuters with a scenic and convenient connection between the two locations.
One-way fares are $15 per passenger with service beginning daily with an 8 a.m. departure from Chula Vista. Each crossing takes approximately 45 minutes, with departures from alternating terminals scheduled at the top of the hour. The final departure of the day leaves Fifth Avenue Landing at 7 p.m.
“We are very excited about extending ferry service to this area of the South Bay,” said Brad Engel, president of Flagship Cruises & Events. “This new route creates another unique and enjoyable way to experience San Diego Bay while improving connectivity between Chula Vista and Downtown San Diego. We look forward to growing the service and adding additional trips to the schedule in the future.”
The new route reflects continued investment in regional waterfront transportation and supports the growing tourism and hospitality activity surrounding the South Bay waterfront and the opening of the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center.
