American Encore, the new riverboat for American Cruise Lines, passed sea trials and is underway from Chesapeake Shipbuilding, in Maryland, to the Columbia and Snake Rivers in the Pacific Northwest. American Encore is the latest addition to the company’s series of modern American Riverboats.

The American Riverboats series have a capacity of 180 passengers, offering all guests private balcony accommodations. The five decks feature multiple dining options, a fitness center, and a top deck lounge with an outdoor walking track, among other amenities.

American Cruise Lines has 28 new small ships for U.S. cruises around the country and eight riverboats specifically for the Columbia and Snake Rivers. The company continues to develop docks and waterfront access throughout the river-region.

American Encore’s inaugural season of sold-out cruises along the Columbia and Snake Rivers begins on May 5 and concludes in mid-November.

The company is looking to launch additional vessels in this series with American Anthem in 2027 and American Grace in 2028. Two more presently unnamed ships will follow in 2028.
