In 2019, informed speakers addressed areas from fire protection to HVAC system improvements, to legal and medical issues, as well as construction and vessel design considerations. Sales and marketing sessions provided pro tips, and insurance experts offered guidance, while financial professionals answered questions about capital investments and state-of-the-art payment technologies. Answers on battery and hybrid- related vessels sessions were in demand, as were staffing solutions for all types of vessel operators. Of course, sessions on safety and security were, as always, well attended. In short, this event had something for everyone working in the passenger vessel industry. The PVA Ferry Conference drew large numbers of attendees for its four-hour long session that touched on a variety of issues facing ferry operators. Other topic-specific educational offerings included the PVA Green WATERS’s environmental conference, the Innovative Battery Technologies Roundtable, and a new Hybrid Technology Roundtable. Each session featured several speakers who addressed a different aspect of these broad topic areas allowing attendees to gain a deeper under- standing of each subject.
